Budapest, February 29, 2024 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary Abdrashov Zhanibek took part in the opening ceremony of the Arts and Conference Center «The Treasure of Karсag».
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Finance Mihály Varga, Deputies of the National Assembly Sándor F. Kovács, Sándor Fazekas, Mayor of Karcag, Tibor Szepesi, as well as other honored guests.
Opening the Center, the Minister of Finance stated that the Government of the country will support any development that serves the preservation of Hungarian culture.
The Minister also noted that Karсаg, as the capital of Greater Kipchakia in Hungary, is a special place that has entered the history books as a meeting place of ancient cultures. «Through the Kipchaks and the Jász, this city still represents the Central Asian roots of the Hungarian nation», he said, while adding that the city still has characteristics that are part of the history of the Hungarian nation, its millennia-long European identity, but also its dual identity from Asia. Therefore, the symbolic building known as the «Shaman's Tambourine» is in the right place, perhaps the most appropriate place in the country.
It should be noted that in the main capital of Hungarian Kipchakia there is a monument to the Kipchak Khan Kötöny - the only one in Europe, established in honor of a representative of the ancient Kipchak family.
Near the city on a hill resembling a Scythian mound, there is a monument symbolizing the arrival of the Kipchaks on the territory of modern Hungary. The monument is a composition of 7 Kipchak warriors in the form of ancient stone sculptures (balbaltas), each of them looking in the direction of the city where their ancestors moved and holding its coat of arms.
The researcher of this region was a famous Kipchak scholar and Turkologist Kongur Mandoki, who was born in Karcag. In the early 1990s, he was one of the founders of the «Union of Kipchaks of Hungary», which is part of the World Congress of Kazakhs.
