Budapest, 24 November 2023 - The Budapest Eurasia Forum on "Transitions for Sustainable Development", organised by the National Bank of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Bank), took place in Budapest on 23-24 November 2023.

The event programme consisted of six thematic panel sessions, each of which discussed new interpretations and facets of geopolitics, sustainable development and digitalisation.

The main objective of the event was to create an international platform where representatives of many economic and social sectors could interact and exchange ideas in the fields of finance, economics, geopolitics, multilateral cooperation, technology, education and culture.

On the second day of the event, in the margins of the Eurasian Forum, Nurkhat Kushimov, Chief Executive Officer of AFSA met with Dr. Csaba Kandrács, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Hungary, during which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AFSA and Magyar Nemzeti Bankp.

This important agreement demonstrates the intention of both regulators to strengthen their partnership to develop cross-border cooperation in the financial sector, regular high-level contacts and exchange of information on financial markets. Both parties intend to maintain high standards of regulatory oversight and contribute to the creation of a sustainable and dynamic financial ecosystem.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was preceded by a joint information session between AFSA and the Association of Hungarian Fund and Asset Management Companies (BAMOSZ), which took place the day before the Forum.
