The spring holiday Nauryz was celebrated in Budapest

Budapest, March 21, 2023 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary Zhanibek Abdrashov took part in the event of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Hungary, dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz holiday.

During the event, the Ambassador gave an interview to the state radio "Kossuth" and spoke about the significance of Nauryz as a new beginning for Kazakhstan, which currently has entered a new stage of its political development and cardinal democratic transformations.

In addition, the Kazakh diplomat attended a festive concert of students from Turkic-speaking countries, who traditionally celebrate this spring holiday, and congratulated all those present people on the Nauryz holiday.

The holiday program did not leave the guests indifferent. In addition to bright song and dance numbers, students from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan held thematic quizzes and games related to national traditions with elements of national costumes.

It should be noted that the day of the vernal equinox from ancient times formed a special worldview, common to many peoples. After all, this holiday is celebrated by more than 300 million people in 30 countries. The logical outcome of global cultural processes was the inclusion in 2009 of the Nauryz holiday in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

The Nauryz holiday has again become a symbol of joyful spring renewal and friendliness in the heart of Hungary.
