On October 25-27, 2024, Cluj-Napoca – the Days of Kazakh Cinema were successfully held in the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Romania with the support of the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Cluj-Napoca, Stefan Gadola.

The opening of the Days of Cinema attracted numerous spectators, including city officials, film critics, business representatives, as well as residents and guests of Cluj-Napoca.

The first days of the festival opened with a film about the life of Mustafa Shokay, a politician of the first quarter of the 20th century.

For the next two days, viewers had the opportunity to enjoy historical dramas depicting events from the 15th-16th centuries, the story of the young Kazakh state's confrontation with external enemies and the reclaiming of lost cities.

As part of the event, there was also an exhibition of paintings by the talented Kazakh artist Alua Abenova, who lives in Romania.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Romania, Yerlik Ali, expressed hope that such cultural events would help people in Romania gain a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan's history and culture. According to him, this will further contribute to the development of our mutually beneficial cooperation. Despite the geographical distance between our countries, Astana and Bucharest have established fruitful and multifaceted relations.

At the same time, Honorary Consul Stefan Gadola, in his welcoming speech, emphasized that hosting such events undoubtedly contributes to strengthening friendship and further deepening bilateral relations in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It should be noted that since 2017 the Days of Kazakhstani Cinema have been held annually in Constanta and Cluj-Napoca.
