Working visit of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Romania E. Ali to the Cluj-Napoca region

On 29 February - 1 March 2024, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerlik Ali paid a working visit to the region of Cluj-Napoca.

Within the framework of a meeting with representatives of the agro-industrial and IT sector, the Head of the diplomatic mission presented trade proposals of Kazakhstan’s economic entities interested in supplying products to Romania and developing co-operation with Romanian business.

Investment opportunities of Kazakhstan were also presented, issues of mutual interest in the sphere of agriculture and the latest technologies were discussed. A frank dialogue was held, during which the Ambassador answered the questions concerning the economic development of Kazakhstan, which were of concern to the Romanian side. Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador invited the businessmen of the region to visit Kazakhstan.

During the meeting with the Mayor of Cluj-Napoca and the Prefect of the region, the prospects of trade-economic, investment and humanitarian co-operation were discussed. It was noted that the potential of mutual trade has not been fully realized yet, and there are ample opportunities for increasing trade turnover. The parties confirmed mutual interest in expanding interaction between the regions of Kazakhstan and Romania, in particular, within the framework of the agreement on twinning relations between Karaganda and Cluj-Napoca.

In Karaganda works Romanian cultural society "Dacia", and in one of the universities of Karaganda functions the only in Central Asia chair of Romanian language and literature.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue active cooperation, including within the framework of mutual business missions.

A separate meeting of the Ambassador with Kazakhstan’s students who studying in the universities of Cluj-Napoca was held, at which E.Ali described in detail the development of Kazakh-Romanian bilateral relations.
