During the visit to Romania, the Kazakh delegation took part in the meeting of the Joint Commission on International Road Transportation

Kazakh delegation headed by the Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev during a visit to Romania took part in the transport and logistics business forum in the port of Constanta and the meeting of the Joint Commission on international road transport. On the margins of the forum were held B2B meetings with representatives of Romanian business.

Vice-Minister Talgat Lastayev, Chairman of the Committee of Railway and Water Transport Olzhas Saparbekov, representatives of the management of JSC "KTZ Express", "NC "Aktau Sea Trade Port", International Association "TMTM", LLP "Semurg Invest", "Dar Rail" and "PTC Holding" participated in the events from the Kazakh side.

Speaking at the forum, Minister M. Karabayev noted that Kazakhstan is creating all conditions for the development of its own transport industry, increasing the speed and quality of transit traffic on the road from Asia to Europe. He also expressed hope that the meeting of business representatives will give a new impetus to road transportation between Kazakhstan and Romania.

Also, the Kazakh delegation accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania Adrian Fogis visited and familiarized with the activities of the largest port in Romania in Constanta.

The river-sea port has 156 berths and a favorable geographical position at the intersection of two pan-European transport corridors: river Corridor VII (Danube) and railway Corridor IV. Two satellite ports Midija and Mangalia are located next to the port. The capacity of the Port of Constanta is 100 million tons of cargo per year.

The opportunities and advantages of the Port of Constanta can play an important role in unlocking the potential of TMTM, as well as in strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Romania to mutually increase transit cargo flows and share best practices in multimodal transportation and logistics processes.
