Meeting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlik Ali with the President of the Agency for investments and foreign trade of Romania Rares Burlacu

September 11, 2023, Bucharest - Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerlik Ali held a meeting with the President of the Agency for investment and foreign trade Rares Burlacu. 

During the talks, the parties discussed in detail the topical issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Romania.

Significant potential for increasing bilateral trade turnover was noted. For the development of investment cooperation, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Romania informed about the conditions of investment climate of Kazakhstan, in particular, drew the attention of the main theses of the message of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev`s State of the Nation Address "Economic course of a Just Kazakhstan".

President of the Agency for investment and foreign trade R.Burlacu confirmed Romania's interest in strengthening economic, trade and investment ties with Kazakhstan. At the same time, he noted that the transit and transportation industry is one of the promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

The interlocutors noted the importance of transferring the agreements reached at the meeting of the Kazakh-Romanian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation (October 6-7, 2022, Astana) to the practical plane.

During the meeting also considered topical issues of cooperation on the company "KazMunaiGas International" and its active activities to export Kazakh energy resources to Europe. Special attention was paid to practical steps to ensure social protection of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan working in Romania.

 Following the meeting, the Romanian side presented materials on the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the manufacturing industry, as well as export and investment potential of Turkestan region.
