Delegation of the European Parliament welcomed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

Astana, October 31, 2024 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alibek Bakayev, held a meeting with Giuseppina Princi, Chairman of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Central Asia and Mongolia.

Highlighting the dynamic political dialogue and the productive activities of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee "Republic of Kazakhstan - European Union," both parties expressed a mutual commitment to further strengthen the Kazakh-European partnership.

Deputy Minister Bakayev underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in green energy, rare earth minerals, and transport interconnectivity.

Special attention was given to the issue of simplifying EU visa requirements for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Additionally, representatives from the Ministries of Justice, Culture, and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan briefed the European deputies on the measures implemented by the Kazakh Government to protect human rights and uphold the rule of law.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Bakayev wished the European Parliament delegation a productive visit and expressed hope for the swift achievement of practical outcomes.
