Adil Tursunov: The implementation of the Elbasy’s initiative to launch the Russia-US-China-EU dialogue can play a decisive role in overcoming global pandemics
NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM - Adil Tursunov, Advisor to the First President of Kazakhstan, commented on an article by Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, “When we are united, we are invincible,” Kazinform news agency reported.
“The title of the Elbasy’s article “When we are united, we are invincible” and its content, of course, indicates that it is addressed, first of all, to all of us, citizens of Kazakhstan,” said Adil Tursunov.
At the same time, he drew attention to the important messages of the article, related to international aspects of today's anti-crisis agenda.
“Firstly, thanks to Nursultan Nazarbayev’s effective foreign policy doctrine our country over the past years has created a “belt of good-neighbourliness” with adjacent largest countries of the world - Russia and China, as well as the fraternal republics of Central Asia. Pursuing a proactive, multi-vector and peaceful policy, Kazakhstan has taken its rightful place among the respected and responsible members of the United Nations,” the adviser to the First President of Kazakhstan said.
This fact invisibly, but effectively helps in these difficult days for the whole world, he says. For example, our foreign friends from all over the world assist Kazakhstan’s diplomats in the implementation of the instruction of the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to organize the prompt return of our compatriots to their homeland, he cited the example.
“Secondly, in his address, Elbasy speaks of the importance of supporting each other in the international arena. This principle has been underpinning the foreign policy of Kazakhstan since the first days of independence. In this regard, it is very logical that our country, in the current crisis, provides humanitarian assistance to a number of countries of the world,” said Adil Tursunov.
Thirdly, he said, the Nursultan Nazarbayev’s article calls on the world powers to "learn a lesson from this difficult situation."
“We see that in order to combat the coronavirus pandemic, significant efforts are being made by the UN, the World Health Organization, G7, G20, some other countries and international organizations.
However, for a number of objective and subjective reasons, in practical terms, results are not yet noticeable that would testify to the formation of a much-needed united global response to the current challenge, ” he said.
In this context, Adil Tursunov recalled that in his speeches at the Asia-Europe Summit (ASEM), held in Brussels in 2018, and the second forum “One Belt, One Road”, which took place in Beijing in 2019, Elbasy initiated the launch of a dialogue between Russia, China, the USA and the European Union.
“I believe that the current crisis confirms particular relevance of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s idea. Its implementation, undoubtedly, can play a decisive role in successfully overcoming the most difficult situations similar to the current one (one can only imagine the power and effectiveness of the response to the coronavirus pandemic provided that the political, financial, research and technological capabilities of the Quartet were in synergy at the beginning of the year).
That is why Elbasy stressed the special responsibility of the leaders of Russia, China, the USA and the European Union for the future of mankind, for international stability and security.
In conclusion, I would like to once again highlight a quote from Nursultan Nazarbayev’s article: “Now we need a new policy that would inspire the entire human civilization towards the development rather than creating obstacles,” summed up the adviser to Elbasy.
