Special Representative Erzhan Kazykhan held talks with EU Commissioner

On the sidelines of the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Brussels, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Cooperation, Erzhan Kazykhan, met with the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič. The parties discussed issues of humanitarian aid and crisis management, regional cooperation, and the situation in Afghanistan.

During the meeting, Commissioner Lenarčič noted the particular importance of the first official visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Brussels, as well as his negotiations with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union.

Commissioner Lenarčič also confirmed the readiness of the European Commission for closer cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of climate change, disaster risk reduction, and crisis management.
