Kazakhstan and Luxembourg to implement a project in the field of digitalization

Brussels, May 10, 2021 - Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.B.Tleuberdi during his visit to Brussels met with the Chief Financial Officer of one of the leading global satellite operators «Société Européenne des Satellites» (SES) S.Jalan during the meeting of the Berlin Eurasian Club.

The main goal of the talks was to discuss a potential project in the field of digitalization, aimed at eliminating digital inequality and providing broadband Internet access to 2 400 remote rural settlements in all regions of Kazakhstan.

This project is quite relevant and timely in the light of the last message of the Head of State - President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K.Tokayev on the need to eliminate digital inequality, as well as to ensure maximum access to the Internet and high-quality communication of Kazakhstani citizens. The tasks of eliminating digital inequality and providing broadband Internet access to remote rural settlements of the Republic of Kazakhstan are also outlined in the state program «Digital Kazakhstan».
The solution of these tasks should be based on economic efficiency and bring income and benefit to the state.
