Interparliamentary cooperation discussed

Montevideo, February 28, 2025 - During his stay in the capital of Uruguay, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov visited the country's Parliament and met with National Assembly Deputy Alvaro Perrone.

The Ambassador congratulated his interlocutor on his recent election to the Parliament of Uruguay and wished him success in his professional and legislative activities. During the conversation, the Uruguayan parliamentarian received up-to-date information on the political reforms carried out in Kazakhstan, socio-economic transformations, as well as the priorities of our country in the international arena.

The parties discussed in detail the issues of creating the recently convened «Uruguay-Kazakhstan» parliamentary friendship group in the Parliament of Uruguay and holding its first meeting this year. This issue was first initiated in May 2024 in the Parliament of Uruguay during the working visit of First Deputy Foreign Minister Kairat Umarov to Montevideo.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain an ongoing dialogue. For his part, the deputy promised to conduct the necessary consultations with colleagues and send the approved list to the parliamentary friendship group.
