Buenos Aires, June 5, 2024 – as part of a working visit to the Argentine Republic, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Brazil and concurrently to Argentina Bolat Nussupov met with the Director General of the Supervising Department for Cooperation with European Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Worship, Ambassador Betina Pasquali de Fonseca.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan congratulated the interlocutor on her appointment to a new position and wished her success in strengthening and expanding Kazakh-Argentine relations in the context of the goals and objectives of the new Government of Argentina. Taking this opportunity, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan thanked the Argentine side for the invitation and hospitality extended during the inauguration of Argentine President Javier Milei in December last year.

The parties discussed in detail the topical aspects of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the international agenda and noted the existence of a stable political dialogue between the two countries, as well as the positive dynamics of mutual support on international platforms.

Ambassador Bolat Nussupov familiarized Ambassador Betina Pasquali de Fonseca with the progress of the political and socio-economic reforms of the country's leadership being implemented in Kazakhstan, spoke about the main priorities of Kazakhstan's foreign policy in the context of the global agenda. Stressing the special role of Argentina as an important partner of Kazakhstan in Latin America, the Kazakh diplomat noted the expediency of expanding the political dialogue by organizing high-level cross-visits and holding regular fifth political consultations in Astana this autumn.

At the same time, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, noting the importance of strengthening interparliamentary ties, informed the Argentine diplomat about the creation of the parliamentary friendship group "Argentina-Kazakhstan" in the National Congress of Argentina and intentions to hold its first meeting with Kazakh colleagues by the end of 2024.

In addition, the diplomats discussed the possibilities of increasing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere and agreed that the level of bilateral trade turnover clearly does not correspond to the potential of both countries. According to the parties, the establishment of the Business Council in order to strengthen cooperation in the trade and investment spheres will give a powerful impetus to the entire range of bilateral relations between the states.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the implementation of the agreements reached following the results of the fourth political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in Buenos Aires last August. An agreement has been reached to maintain constant working contact.
