The rector of a Brazilian university congratulated with Nauryz holiday

Brasilia, March 20, 2024 - On the eve of the Nauryz holiday, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil was visited by the rector of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Professor Carlos Andre Buloes Mendes, who, on behalf of the staff and students of the Brazilian university, congratulated Kazakh diplomats on the Spring and New Year holidays and presented the Embassy with a figurine “Gaucho”, which is a symbol of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

During a conversation with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nusupov, the rector of the Brazilian university once again voiced an invitation to the leadership of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University to visit the state capital - the city of Porto Alegre in the framework of the 3rd meeting of the “Brazil-Kazakhstan” Business Council on May 16-17 this year.

At the same time, Carlos Mendes shared his plans to organize a program for the Kazakh delegation, which will include visits to the university, research laboratories, agricultural farms and cooperatives. The Brazilian delegation also intends to make a presentation of a block of issues that will be of practical interest to the Kazakh delegation. The parties agreed to continue dialogue in the agricultural sector.

Background information: June 2, 2023 the first Vice-rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNAIU) Primkul Ibragimov and the Rector of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) Carlos Andre Buloes Mendes signed online Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of agricultural science. The document provides for the exchange of scientific information and best practices, joint holding of scientific and practical conferences and seminars, academic and scientific exchange, as well as joint preparation and publication of educational, methodological and scientific literature.
