Conference of Honorary Consuls of Kazakhstan in South America

 Brasilia, February 12, 2024 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov held a traditional online meeting with the Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the South America countries, during of which he shared the plans of the Embassy's work with the accreditation and curation countries in the current year and exchanged views on the organization of joint events in the capitals of  countries of the region.

In particular, it was proposed to intensify the work on the establishment of friendship groups in the Parliaments of countries of the region, business councils, as well as friendship societies at the civil and public organizations level. The main emphasis was made on the upcoming this year political  consultations with a number of states, within the framework of which it was proposed to organize joint economic events.

The Ambassador also familiarized the Honorary Consuls with the thematic directions of the next Astana International Forum (AMF) with the invitation of representatives of official and business circles of the South American countries. During the meeting the Ambassador informed the meeting participants about the formation of the new Kazakhstan’s Government and tasks set before it by the President of the country at the enlarged session in the sphere of economy and investments. In this context, he calls  the Honorary Consuls to more actively promote trade, economic and investment interests of Kazakhstan in their countries, taking into account the existing priorities, as well as to initiate new joint projects in the field of trade and investment.

In their speeches the Kazakhstan’s Honorary Consuls informed the conference participants about the completed work on  promottion of image of Kazakhstan in their countries, as well as expantion of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, and shared ideas and proposals for joint work for the current year.

In view of the absence of diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan in most countries of the region, the parties were unanimous in the opinion that the activity of Honorary Consuls is a key channel of support and an important factor in the implementation of successful bilateral cooperation with all South American countries.
