Republic Day celebrated in Brazil

 

         Brasilia, October 24, 2023 – on the occasion of the Republic Day, the presentation of the second volume “Despair" of the Brazilian edition of Ilyas Yesenberlin's trilogy "Nomads" with a watching of the historical feature movie "The Kazakh Khanate. Diamond Sword." The event was accompanied by musical numbers of Kazakh folk music. At the end of the official part, the guests of the evening were given a reception with elements of Kazakh and Brazilian national cuisine.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Brazil with the support of the Kazakhstan–Brazil Friendship Forum with the participation of representatives of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, heads of diplomatic missions, cultural and educational circles of the host country and local media.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov, Secretary for Culture and Creative Economy of the Federal District Felipe Ramon, Deputy Director of the National Library Elisa Raquel Souza Oliveira and Vice-President of the Planetary Union of Brazil Rudinej Marquez made welcoming addresses to the guests of the evening.

The author of the translation of the book "Nomads" into Portuguese, the executive director of the friendship society "Kazakhstan-Brazil" Professor Edelsio Americo told about the features of the second volume of the Brazilian edition describing the struggle of the Kazakh people for national unity in the external threats context, the exploits of Kazakh commanders on the way to the creation of an independent Kazakh Khanate.

Professor Americo noted that this work of art by Ilyas Yesenberlin is famous in a number of countries, thanks to its translation into many foreign languages, including Portuguese in Brazil. In general, the report of Edelsio Americo focused on the historical events of our state, the development strategy and achievements of the country at the present stage. Last year, the Embassy of Kazakhstan, with the presentation of the first volume of the "Enchanted Sword" of the historical trilogy "Nomads", launched a large-scale project "Kazakh Library in Brazil", in the framework of which books by Kazakh authors in Portuguese will be published in Brazil.

This year Kazakhstan and Brazil celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
