About the last meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum

Brasilia, September 14, 2023 – the next meeting of the «Kazakhstan–Brazil» Friendship Forum was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan.

The agenda of the meeting included a discussion of a number of political reforms by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as part of his September State of the Nation Address «Economic course of a Just Kazakhstan», as well as a plan for joint events of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum for 2023–2024.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, voiced the main directions of political reforms in Kazakhstan for the systemic modernization of the state and society. Key attention was paid to the main provisions of the Message of the Kazakh Leader to the Nation, aimed at strengthening the involvement of all categories of citizens in the systemic modernization of the state, rebooting the economy and increasing the welfare of society.

In addition, in light of the celebration this year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Brazil, the Ambassador noted that an important contribution to the strengthening of cultural dialog between the two countries was the opening of the first in South America monument to Abai Kunanbaiuly in Rio de Janeiro in August this year. The next event of the Kazakhstan–Brazil Friendship Forum will be the presentation of the Brazilian edition of the second volume of Ilyas Esenberlin's trilogy «Nomads» in Portuguese, as well as the screening of the feature film «Kazakh Khanate. Diamond Sword», scheduled for October 24, 2023.

During the briefing, the plans of the Embassy for 2024 were also presented. It was noted that the Friendship Forum – as a dialog platform between the two countries is a reliable basis and a great help for the expansion of cultural, humanitarian and academic cooperation between the two countries.

In turn, the participants of the event showed great interest in the new socio-economic program of Kazakhstan, wished success in further implementation of reforms of the country's leadership. At the end of the meeting there was an active discussion on the topics discussed.
