Economic cooperation with Brazil is expanding

Brasilia, May 30, 2023 – At the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil, Ambassador Bolat Nussupov met with the Vice President of the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil (CNI), President of the Federation of Industry of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FIERGS) Gilberto Porcello Petry.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the results of the recent visit of Gilberto Petry to Kazakhstan and the second meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Committee, co-chaired by «CNI» and National company «QazIndustry», which took place on April 13, 2023 in Astana.

The agenda of the talks also included the implementation of joint trade, economic and investment projects, which were determined following the meeting of the Business Committee. The parties agreed to take an active part in their implementation.

This year, Kazakhstan and Brazil are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

For reference: The Business Committee was established in August 2021. The first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council was held in December 2021 in Brasilia with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almas Aidarov in the capital of Brazil, the second meeting was held on April 13 this year in Astana. Bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Brazil doubled in 2022 and amounted to $364.4 million (exports - $84.7 million, imports - $279.4 million). For January-February of this year. the volume of mutual trade increased by 333% compared to the same period last year and reached 58.9 million US dollars (Kazakh export - 28.8 million dollars, import from Brazil - 30.2 million dollars).
