Partnership between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Brazil

Brasilia, February 7, 2023 – Paco Britto, Secretary for International Affairs of the Capital Federal District of Brazil, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Kazakhstan and met with Ambassador Bolat Nussupov.

During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, plans for holding cultural events this year in the context of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Brazil, as well as within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the capitals of the two countries, signed in October 2019 during the participation of the Brazilian delegation in the VIII Global Summit of the World Tourism Organization on Urban Tourism (UNWTO).

During the conversation, the Brazilian side highly appreciated the achievements of Kazakhstan in the implementation of urbanization technologies and the «smart city» on the example of the Kazakh capital and asked about the possibility of exchanging experience and participating in Kazakhstan's international events on this topic.

In turn, the Ambassador informed the guests about the launch under the auspices of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of a new dialogue platform in Kazakhstan – the Astana International Forum (AIF), which will be held on June 8-9, 2023 in the capital. At the same time, it was noted that the Forum will be devoted to four key issues: foreign policy, global security and sustainability, energy and climate, as well as the global economy and finance.
