Cooperation with a major Brazilian city is expanding

Rio de Janeiro, June 24, 2022 – During a working trip, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, met with the Deputy Mayor of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Nilton Caldeira.

During the talks, Bolat Nussupov spoke about the current development of Kazakhstan, multicultural diversity in the country, as well as its economic features and opportunities. The parties discussed the priority areas of interregional cooperation in the field of economy, trade, education and culture, in particular, the possibility of establishing twinning between the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Almaty, as well as holding joint cultural events.

In turn, Nilton Caldeira, noting the historical, educational and cultural value of the city, expressed readiness for further large-scale regional cooperation with Kazakhstan. The interlocutor welcomed the presence in the city of the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan, which will enhance cooperation in the field of tourism and academic exchange.
