Business cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chilean business circles is expanding

Santiago, June 13, 2022 – as part of a working visit to Chile, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Argentina and Chile concurrently Bolat Nussupov met with the Vice President of the leading Chilean company Codelco, Patricio Vergara.

During the conversation, the management of the Chilean company was acquainted with the opportunities available in Kazakhstan in the mining industry. Moreover, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan invited the leadership of the Chilean company to visit Kazakhstan in the fall of 2022 as part of the Mining and metals Central Asia exhibition, which will be held in Almaty in the fall of this year.

In turn, Codelco Vice President Patricio Vergara, highly appreciating the prospects for establishing cooperation, expressed interest in the company's participation in the exhibition and holding bilateral meetings with Kazakhstani companies for a detailed discussion of the prospects for cooperation.

Codelco is Chile's leading copper corporation established in 1966. At the end of 2020, the company's copper production amounted to 1.7 million tons, which allowed Codelco to maintain its first place in the world. The annual profit of the corporation reaches 14 billion dollars. 14% of Chilean exports belong to Codelco.
