Expanding cooperation in the field of education

Brasilia, May 25, 2022 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov met with the Rector of the Federal University of the State of Rio Grande do Sul Carlos Mendez.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the importance of the scientific and educational sphere in strengthening Kazakh-Brazilian relations, and also discussed the prospects for establishing academic and scientific exchange between the main university of the state and the leading universities of Kazakhstan, in particular, within the framework of sister city relations between the regions of the two countries.

The Kazakh diplomat also informed the interlocutor about the launch of a project for the study of the Kazakh language and regional studies at the Federal University of Fluminense in Rio and Janeiro in June this year and suggested launching a similar project at the Federal University of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.

The parties agreed to develop and agree on a joint project in the field of academic exchange, linguistics, as well as engineering disciplines.
