Meeting of Ambassador Bolat Nussupov with a professor of the Federal University of Fluminense

Brasilia, February 8, 2022 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov held an online meeting with Professor of the Federal University of Fluminense Edelcio Américo.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a plan of cultural and educational events for this year, including the Days of Kazakh Cinema this spring in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the opening of the Kazakh Language and Kazakhstan Lecture Hall (Kazakhstan Studies) at the University. The signing of the corresponding memorandum is planned within the framework of the celebration of the anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynov this autumn.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the Concept of the project "Kazakh Library in Brazil" and the release of the first volume of the trilogy "Nomads" this autumn.

Edelcio Américo is one of the few scientists in South America specializing in regional studies and the history of Central Asia, as well as the owner of the state award of Kazakhstan - the Order of Dostyk, II degree. During the years of cooperation, he translated a number of books by Kazakh authors into Portuguese and took part in their publication in Brazil.
