ZVOLEN, February 7 - Opportunities for mutually beneficial business cooperation with Kazakhstan were in the focus of meetings of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Slovakia Roman Vasilenko with businessmen in the central part of the country, held on February 6-7.
The meeting in the city of Zvolen (Bansko-Bystritsky Territory) was attended by heads of large, medium and small companies representing industries such as defense industry, woodworking industry, agricultural processing, medicine and pharmacology, information technology, oilfield services and consulting.

In his speech, the Kazakh diplomat informed the audience about the course of economic and socio-political reforms of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the achievements in the economic and political development of the country, the measures taken by the government to further improve the investment climate, as well as about the opportunities provided by the work of the Astana International Financial Center ". Businessmen, many of whom have recently visited Nur-Sultan to attend the 8th meeting of the intergovernmental commission and the business "round table" in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, noted a great interest in cooperation with business circles of our country.

As part of the trip, the Ambassador visited two well-known city-forming enterprises in the region - the PPS Group metalwork plant and the Sonne Chrystal crystal plant. The first company, based on the basis of the former secret factory for the production and repair of military equipment, operating since 1955, is one of the largest in Europe in its industry and is engaged in the manufacture of large-sized structures for international engineering and mining and metallurgical companies. Sonne Chrystal has historically existed since 1836 and has positioned itself in the hand-made market for the production of a wide range of crystal products. The leaders of both companies, in particular the chairman of the board of directors of PPS Group Daniel Futey and the CEO of Sonne Chrystal Andrey Trchan, showed interest in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with partners in Kazakhstan.

During the stay in the region, the Kazakh delegation also met with the Deputy Governor of the Bansko-Bystritsky Territory Roman Malatinets and the Mayor of Detva, Jan Shufliarsky.
They discussed the prospects for establishing economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the exchange of experience with relevant Kazakhstan regions and structures. It is interesting that the fifteen thousandth city of Detva, next to which is the production of the PPS Group, successfully solves the problems typical for single-industry towns by developing small and medium-sized businesses and unlocking tourism potential, including through the annual holding of one of the largest folklore festivals in Europe with 2 000 artists and 50 000 spectators from all over the world.

The visit of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Banska Bystrica Region, located in the center of Slovakia and known for its industrial, agricultural and tourism potential, was organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Agency for Trade and Investment Development of Slovakia SARIO. The trip was attended by the Director General of Economic Diplomacy and the Director of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Dusan Matulaj and Viktor Borecki.
