Šurany, July 7, 2021 – Today Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Slovakia Roman Vassilenko visited the town of Šurany (Nitra region), where he visited the Kuruc s.r.o. company, which has been developing and selling technologies and machines for solid waste disposal for more than 30 years.
The company has developed and manufactures production lines of its own design, which allow recycling such waste as tetra-packs, cellophane, paper, into products of various profiles – boards, panels, and so on – used for heat and sound insulation or in the production of model houses. The clients of the company, which supplies both waste processing lines and finished products, are construction and waste processing companies in Europe, America and Asia.
During Ambassador Vassilenko’s meeting with the head of the company, František Kuruc, the interlocutors noted the problem of processing solid household waste is very urgent all over the world, both for Slovakia and for Kazakhstan. According to the official statistics published the day before, last year every citizen of Slovakia disposed of an average of 446 kg of waste, of which less than a third was utilized. In total, in 2020, households in the SR produced 2.43 million tonnes of household waste. As was noted at the meeting, one production line of Kuruc company is capable of processing up to 3000 tonnes of tetra-packs per year (while about 15,000-16,000 tonnes of such waste is collected in Slovakia annually).
In turn, Roman Vassilenko informed the interlocutor about the state of environmental protection in Kazakhstan, the efforts of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and the country’s government in strengthening environmental protection and developing a more energy efficient and responsible economy. Particular emphasis was placed on the new Environmental Code and the implementation of the Concept for the transition to a green economy. Both noted that solving the problem of accumulated and solid household waste still being accumulated is one of the most important priorities of the state’s environmental policy.
Following the meeting and visiting the company, an agreement was reached on establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with relevant structures in Kazakhstan. One of the important opportunities for this will be the upcoming annual KazBuild exhibition September 7-9, 2021, in Almaty, in which Kuruc company also intends to take part.
