A series of meetings aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Slovakia in the cultural and humanitarian sphere was held in Bratislava.
During talks between Yevgeniy Kochetov, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Tibor Bernatyak, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, the sides expressed mutual interest in holding Days of Culture in Astana and Bratislava.
The parties also discussed ways to further develop cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Libraries and museums, traditional folk arts, creative industries, and the film industry were identified as promising areas for collaboration.
Cooperation in the library sector was discussed separately at a meeting with Olga Doktorova, Director of the State Scientific Library of the Slovak Republic. In particular, the Slovak side proposed establishing a dedicated Kazakhstan corner at the library to promote Kazakh culture and raise awareness of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage.
An important part of the programme was a meeting with Robert Dobrovodský, the Slovak Ombudsman, who highlighted the practical value of Kazakhstan’s experience in the digitalization of social services, with particular emphasis on the Digital Family Map project. The parties also discussed the protection of children in the digital environment.
