Elena Rybakina - US Open Champion and World No. 1

Elena Rybakina has written a new page in the history of Kazakhstani sport. In the 2026 US Open final, she defeated Aryna Sabalenka to claim the third Grand Slam title of her career.

Following her Wimbledon triumph in 2022 and her victory at the Australian Open in 2026, Elena continued her impressive run of success at Grand Slam tournaments. Alongside winning the US Open title, she reached the top of the WTA rankings for the first time in her career, becoming the first representative of Kazakhstan to achieve the world No. 1 ranking.

Slovakia holds a special place in Elena’s professional journey. For several years now, the tennis player has been training in Bratislava, making it an important part of her preparation for major international competitions.

Elena also shares warm ties with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Slovak Republic. During her recent visit, she presented the Embassy with her tennis racket as a gift. It now holds a special place among the memorabilia commemorating the sporting achievements of our fellow citizens in Slovakia.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Slovak Republic sincerely congratulates Elena Rybakina on her US Open victory and on becoming the world No. 1!

We wish her many more major victories, continued inspiration, and further success on the world’s tennis courts.
