Industrial enterprises in central Slovakia interested in Kazakhstan

TISOVEC-JELSAVA, September 18, 2020 - Two industrial enterprises in central Slovakia with a long history and competitive products are interested in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan. This was made clear following the visit of Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Slovakia Roman Vassilenko to these factories and his meetings with the management of CSM Industry s.r.o. and SMZ, a.s. Jelsava, located in Tisovec and Jelsava in the Banska Bystritsa region.

CSM Industry s.r.o. is an engineering company that continues 50 years of history of mechanical engineering in Tisovec.

The company specializes in production, sale and services of attachments, as well as cooperative welded parts. The company’s flagship product for many decades has been the constantly modernized UDS scheduling excavator of various modifications, which is used (with various attachments at the boom end) in construction, rescue works, the armed forces, logging, etc. The competitive advantage of UDS is the boom length of 14.6 metres. Over the years of its existence, the company has produced 30,000 such machines. CSM Industry’s technological equipment allows manufacturing various parts such as frames, booms, etc. for its customers, as well as provide comprehensive services for the preparation of materials before finishing, painting and assembly. CSM Industry has been expanding its dealer network in Europe and Asia.

The company is familiar with Kazakhstan as a potentially important consumer, has a number of clients and interested in expanding its presence in our country, including in terms of localizing production.

SMZ, a.s. Jelsava was the second plant visited. It’s the largest magnesite mining and processing plant in the country, as well as one of the world’s largest producers of calcined magnesite under the DBM brand.

The company manufactures raw refractory products from raw magnesia, caustic magnesia and slag-forming additives. The company’s production is used in the steel, refractory, chemical, construction industries and agriculture.

Extraction of raw magnesite is carried out at its own field of the Dubrava massif. It is one of the world’s largest deposits of this mineral in terms of its proven and available geological reserves, mining method, storage size and mining and technological connection. The available reserves of 200 million tons of magnesite (MgCO3) is sufficient for the next 200 years of extraction and processing. The company uses progressive and sustainable production method along with modern drilling and transportation mechanisms.

Previously, the company has already supplied small quantities of magnesia to some steelmaking enterprises in Kazakhstan and now is interested in expanding its presence on its market.
