Bern, May 1, 2025 — Today, the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates one of its most significant holidays — the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, a symbol of peace, harmony, and friendship among representatives of more than 150 nationalities living in the country.
Kazakhstan stands as an example of interethnic harmony, where tolerance, and respect for the culture and traditions of all peoples are deeply valued. This holiday unites Kazakhstanis regardless of nationality, religion, or beliefs.
This year, the Day of Unity holds special significance as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK), a unique constitutional institution that has become the foundation of the country's model for interethnic accord and sustainable development.
This day serves as a reminder of the importance of openness, respect for diversity, and peaceful coexistence — principles cherished by both Kazakhstan and Switzerland.
On the occasion of this holiday and the APK’s anniversary, congratulations are coming from international partners, including Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and representatives of the Kazakh diaspora, who recognize Kazakhstan’s contribution to promoting peace and harmony.
Happy Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan!
