Ambassador of Kazakhstan met with the Chairman of the Swiss National Bank

January 7, 2025, Zurich – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation Kairat Sarzhanov met with the Chairman of the Swiss National Bank Martin Schlegel.

During the discussion with the leadership of the Swiss financial regulator, the Kazakh Ambassador highlighted the steady development of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the positive dynamics of trade and investment partnership and the planned meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and Business Council in the new year. The diplomat shared with his counterpart the achievements of Kazakhstan in the past year and outlined plans for diversifying the national economy.

The parties discussed cooperation between the two countries within the framework of Bretton Woods institutions, including ongoing projects between central banks. M.Schlegel stated that Switzerland considers Kazakhstan a priority partner within the Swiss subgroup (Helvetistan) and highly praised the collaboration with the National Bank of Kazakhstan. He shared macroeconomic indicators and details of the Confederation’s current monetary policy. The interlocutors agreed to implement specific projects in 2025.
