Ambassador of Kazakhstan met with President of the Canton of Geneva

Geneva, April 4, 2023 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation Kairat Sarzhanov met with President of the Canton of Geneva Mauro Poggia. 

As part of a courtesy visit, Ambassador K.Sarzhanov informed about the political transformations being carried out in Kazakhstan, particularly the results of the recent parliamentary election. He highlighted the persistence of the Kazakh-Swiss relations in the development of political dialogue and noted the importance of organizational aspects during the official events between the two countries, mentioning the visit of President of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev to Geneva in November 2021.  

The sides discussed trade and economic partnership, drawing attention to the prospects for cooperation, including the interaction of Swiss companies with Kazakhstan's Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), as well as specific projects in education and culture.  

M.Poggia noted the importance of Kazakhstan's democratic achievements, wished the country success in implementing its plans, and expressed the canton's readiness to deepen bilateral relations.
