Visit of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to St. Gallen

St. Gallen, July 4-5, 2022 - Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation A.Bakayev paid a visit to the canton of St. Gallen

During the trip, a meeting was held with the Vice-Rector of the university, Professor U.Schmid and the director of the School of Computer Science J.Muller.

As the result of the meeting, the parties agreed to consider the possibility of establishing partnerships between the university and universities of Kazakhstan.

The business part of the visit included visits to the headquarters of the leading companies in their fields - "Bühler Group" (production of equipment for the grain and food industry), "Polymetrix" (equipment for the production of PET products) and "Transinvest Holding" (transport and logistics), which are actively involved in the work of the Kazakh-Swiss Business Council. During the meetings, they discussed the progress of the companies' projects in Kazakhstan, as well as the prospects for their further development. The heads of companies were informed about the adoption of the new Investment Policy Concept of Kazakhstan.

In addition, as part of the visit, Ambassador A.Bakaev gave an interview to the economic correspondent of "St. Galler Tagblatt" to discuss Kazakhstan-Swiss cooperation and ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan.
