The head of the Bureau of Islam of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue was awarded a medal of Kazakhstan

Vatican City, April 27, 2022 – Kazakhstan's Ambassador to the Holy See Alibek Bakayev presented the Jubilee Medal "30 years of Independence of Kazakhstan" to the Head of the Bureau for Islam of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue Monsignor Khaled Akashеh.

During the ceremony the Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude for the active annual participation in the work of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and assistance in expanding ties between the States, and also wished Monsignor Khaled Akashеh further professional success.

In turn, the Head of the Bureau for Islam of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev and highly appreciated Kazakhstan's contribution to promoting the global dialogue of religions, cultures and civilizations.

Also, during a working visit to the Vatican Ambassador A.Bakayev held meetings with representatives of the Secretariat for Relations with the States of the Holy See and the head of the Apostolic Library Cardinal Jose Tolentino de Mendonsa, during discussed issues of the Pope's participation in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in Kazakhstan on September 14-15, 2022.
