Roche Holding: Kazakhstan is perspective investment direction

On April 1, 2021, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Alexey Tsoy held online negotiations with the Regional director of the Swiss pharmaceutical concern Roche Mr. Adriano Treve. The Kazakh side was also represented by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Switzerland Mr. Bakayev, the General Director of «SK Pharmacy» LLP Mr. Iskaliyev and the managers of NC «Kazakh-Invest».

This videoconference was preceded by a series of meetings and negotiations between the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Switzerland, NC «Kazakh-Invest» and Roche on realizing the potential of Kazakhstan as a production site in the Eurasian region, as well as on cooperation to counter the pandemic.

Today, the parties discussed the possibilities and terms of delivery of the highly effective Roche anti-covid medicines to Kazakhstan.

Also, at the suggestion of the Kazakh side, Roche will explore the possibilities of localization in Kazakhstan, including the production of bio medicines in the future.

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that localization will increase the availability of Roche products in the Eurasian market, which, along with Kazakhstan, includes Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Mr. Treve noted that Kazakhstan in this context is an attractive investment direction for Roche and the company is interested in deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan.

The parties agreed to implement the mutual proposals as soon as possible after studying them.
