The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Switzerland Organized a Roundtable with participation of the Kazakh Diaspora in Geneva

 

On September 26, 2020, diplomats of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Switzerland held a round table with compatriots - the Kazakh Diaspora living in Geneva, Sion, Lausanne and other cities of French-speaking part of Switzerland.

Considering the importance of preserving and developing ties between the Diaspora and the Motherland, such meetings are becoming traditional. Earlier, on October 28 and December 7, 2019, meetings were already held for the Diaspora living in Zurich, Lucerne, Vaud, Bern, Fribourg, Solothurn, etc.

During the event in Geneva, representatives of the Diaspora were introduced the important and relevant for the local audience provisions of the Address of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev “Kazakhstan in a New Reality: Time for Action" dated September 1, 2020.

Minister-Counselor of the Embassy Mr. Ardak Madiyev stressed that the most important priorities of the Address are “reforming the state apparatus, diversifying the economy, developing new business support programs and, most importantly, the social well-being of citizens of Kazakhstan.”

During the meeting, a representative of the recently established the Kazakh-Swiss Association “Birlik” Mrs. Alma Alimkulova told the guests of the event about the projects of the Association for humanitarian aid to Kazakhstan during the outbreak of the pandemic in July-August 2020, the “United for Health” scholarship program for young doctors from Kazakhstan and cultural projects, such as participation in the challenge for the performance of songs by the famous Kazakh composer Shamshi Kaldayakov, holding together with the Embassy of the “Dobmra Day” and others.

In turn, representatives of the Kazakh Diaspora and students assured the diplomats that they are ready to actively support the sports and cultural events of the Embassy, ​​as well as international events held in Switzerland with the participation of Kazakhstanis.

The meeting became an excellent platform for networking and new ideas.
