Kazakhstan and Serbia intend to intensify interregional cooperation

On September 9 and 10, 2020, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Serbia, Mr. Gabit Syzdykbekov, visited the Zlatibor District of Serbia. During the visit, meetings were held with the head of the Zlatibor district, Mr. Boban Perisic and the mayor of the city of Uzice, Mrs. Elena Rakovic Radivojevic (Uzice - the capital of the Zlatibor district).

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also met with the head of the Zlatibor District Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Ana Lapcevic, and local entrepreneurs. Serbian businessmen were presented with the investment potential of Kazakhstan and promising projects for cooperation.

Accompanied by a delegation of the city administration Ambassador G.Syzdykbekov visited main touristic sights, central streets and parks of the city of Uzice. During the visit, special attention was paid to the city of Zlatibor and the prospects for cooperation in tourism sector.

During the meetings, the parties discussed possibilities for practical cooperation at regional level in economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Special attention was paid to the issue of comprehensive energizing of the established twin-city relations with the East Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A concrete agreement was reached with the head of the region to install a bust or a monument to the great Kazakh poet and philosopher Abay Kunanbayev in the central park of Uzice.
