Belgrade, March 31, 2022 - An expert meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan to discuss the President's Address «New Kazakhstan: the Path of renewal and modernization». Special attention was paid to principled approaches in implementation of the President K.Tokayev course.
The Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Deputy Chairman of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group for Serbia and Kazakhstan D.Karic noted that the «Tragic January» events confirmed importance of continuing qualitative changes in Kazakhstan and implementing a course to change the paradigm of the country's development. The Address sets the tasks of a new level, while consolidating the previously outlined guideline for building a single cohesive nation.
D.Prorokovic, one of the leading Serbian political scientists, head of the Centre for Eurasian Studies at the Belgrade Institute of International Politics and Economics, said that «President Tokayev has begun the process of constitutional changes aimed at finding long-term solutions».
According to the expert, the recent Address of the President can be called a historic turn. The New Kazakhstan, following the path of renewal and modernization, will become a country with stronger institutions and a developed democracy.
He drew attention to the seemingly paradoxical fact that while in many, including developed countries, human rights are restricted under various pretexts and professional activity of objectionable media is prohibited, in Kazakhstan the reverse process is initiated, based on the principles of democracy, human rights protection and openness of the state.
In turn, the Vice-president of the Royal Academy of Innovative Sciences of Serbia V.Stevic drew attention to the steps of the Head of Kazakhstan on transition from a super-presidential form of government to a presidential republic. «This is both a courageous and wise decision of a real leader», the expert stressed.
At the end of the meeting, the representatives of Serbia wished the people of Kazakhstan success in achieving their goals.
