On April 29, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon, Rasul Jumaly, paid a working visit to the southern region bordering Israel. A special tour was organized for the diplomatic missions of the member states of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The mission, which has a multinational contingent of 10 thousand soldiers (including 3 peacekeepers from Kazakhstan), is engaged in monitoring the implementation of UN Resolution 1701 on the prevention of conflicts, including the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah militias of November 27 last year. As part of the program, the commander of the UNIFIL forces, Aroldo Lazaro, reported the current situation in the "Blue Line" along the border and measures being taken to prevent tensions. The visit was followed by a review of the international peacekeepers' positions and the settlements that were destroyed during the war.
