On August 9, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon Rasul Jumaly paid a working visit to Damascus. Here he met with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad. Discussing the state and potential of bilateral relations, the parties noted that their future is seen as very encouraging. F.Miqdad expressed great gratitude for the efforts of Kazakhstan in the framework of the Astana process on Syrian crisis, humanitarian aid after the earthquake in the north of the country, and other manifestations of friendship. During the conversation with the Mayor of Damascus Muhammad Krishati, ways to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed, including the use of the Al-Farabi cultural center, built in Damascus with the sponsorship of Kazakhstan, in the interests of both parties. Representatives of Kazakhstan also visited the Al-Farabi Center itself, where the great thinker is buried, as well as the mausoleum of Sultan Az-Zakhir Beybars, which underwent a comprehensive restoration also with the assistance of our country.
