On May 23, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon, Rasul Jumaly, met with the governor of the city of Tripoli, Muhammad Kamar Ad-Din. During the conversation, issues of developing comprehensive cooperation between the second largest city in Lebanon after the capital Beirut and Qazaqstan were discussed. To achieve this goal, both mutual interest and potential are sufficient. In particular, in the field of trade, Tripoli, which has one of the leading ports and terminals on the Mediterranean Sea, can be useful in exporting wheat, flour and other agricultural products from our country. There are also promising opportunities in the fields of education, culture and tourism. Considering that Tripoli was one of the largest political and cultural centers of the Mamluk state headed by Sultan Baybars, a native of the Qazaq steppes, the task of preserving and modernizing the common historical heritage is also important. Besides, during the negotiations, the possibilities of establishing sister city relations between Tripoli and Atyrau, the birthplace of our glorious ancestor Beibars, were considered.

On the same day, the Qazaq diplomat met with the Mufti of Northern Lebanon Muhammad Imam. The parties noted the importance of filling the close relations between our peoples over the centuries with new content. Muhammad Imam confirmed his interest in establishing close ties with Kazakhstan.
