On March 10 Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon Rasul Zhumaly and members of the diplomatic mission visited Tripoli, the second largest city in the country after Beirut. During the negotiations with representatives of the city, ways of strengthening bilateral economic and business ties were discussed. Among them, such projects as the export of grain, meat and other agricultural products from Kazakhstan to this Arab country, the use of the potential of the seaport of Tripoli for international trade were considered. Considering great importance of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere with Tripoli as cultural and educational center of Lebanon meetings were held at local educational institutions like Tripoli and Jannan universities. It should be noted that several students from Kazakhstan are studying here. At the same time, Tripoli has a special historical and spiritual significance not only for Lebanon, but for the entire Muslim and Turkic world. In particular, it is considered one of the main centers of the Mamluk state. In the frame of the celebration of the 800th anniversary of our great compatriot Az-Zahir Baybars, the delegation got acquainted with the unique relics of the city dating back to that very Mamluk era, and also exchanged views with local scientists.
