Ambassador of Kazakhstan Rasul Zhumaly met with the Patriarch of the Maronite Church, Beshara Boutros Ar-Rai

On November 1 the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon Rasul Zhumaly met with the Patriarch of the Maronite Church, Beshara Boutros Ar-Rai. During the talk information was provided about the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which was held in Kazakhstan at the beginning of this autumn. The texts of the final declaration of this major international forum, as well as the main reports made in its framework, were presented. The Lebanese side highly appreciated the activity of Kazakhstan in the direction of strengthening interreligious and intercivilizational mutual understanding and wished success.It should be noted that the delegation of Lebanon headed by Boutros Ar-Rai also planned to participate in the work of the Congress, however, due to the acute political crisis in the country, this intention was not implemented. At the same time the head of the Lebanese Maronites said that he would like to visit Kazakhstan on a special visit, discuss the horizons of mutual cooperation and exchange experience. Maronites, who make up a significant part of the local society, have a significant influence in public, political and cultural life, in the spheres of education, science, economy and business. Therefore, the prospects of relations in these spheres were also discussed during the meeting.
