Happy National Symbols Day – June 4th!
The Day of state Symbols has been celebrated in Kazakhstan since 2007. The State symbols established by the constitutional law are the distinctive signs of the country. The state symbols of Kazakhstan were adopted on June 4, 1992. These include the flag, coat of arms and anthem.
The National flag of Kazakhstan
The national flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a rectangular blue cloth with an image in the center of the sun with rays, under which is a soaring eagle. The shaft has a vertical stripe with a national ornament. The image of the sun, its rays, an eagle and a national ornament are the colors of gold.
The author of the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Shaken Niyazbekov.
The National Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The national emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the shape of a circle and is an image of a shanyrak on a blue background, from which the uyks radiate in all directions in the form of sunlight. To the right and left of shanyrak there are images of mythical winged horses. There is a voluminous five-pointed star in the upper part, and the inscription "Kazakhstan" in the lower part. The image of a star, shanyrak, uyks, mythical horses, as well as the inscription "Kazakhstan" – the color of gold.
The authors of the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan are famous architects Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shot-Aman Valikhanov.
The National Anthem of Kazakhstan
In the history of independent Kazakhstan, the national anthem of the country was approved twice: in 1992 and in 2006. In order to popularize the country's sound symbols, a new national anthem was adopted in 2006. It was based on the popular patriotic song "Menin Kazakstanym". It was written in 1956 by Shamshi Kaldayakov based on poems by Zhumeken Nazhimedenov.
