In 1991, the USSR collapsed and the countries that were part of the Union became independent states. Kazakhstan was also among them.

On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the law “On Independence and State Sovereignty” and proclaimed the country’s independence. This law, along with the Declaration of Independence of Kazakhstan adopted on October 25, 1990, strengthened the country's independence.

Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the day when a country with a deep history again became a sovereign country in a new era. Every Kazakhstani feels this day with his heart.

Our peace-loving people, who raised the slogan of unity and the banner of peace, have achieved great success during this time.
