On April 5, 2023, at a general meeting, deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted a law on ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of Turkmenistan on the regime of the Kazakh-Turkmen state border.

As Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee - Director of the Border Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Aldazhumanov noted, the main purpose of the agreement is to establish and regulate the legal basis for relations between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the state border.

“The established regime includes the procedure for crossing the Kazakh-Turkmen state border by people, vehicles, as well as the movement of goods and other property through it. In addition, this will concern the conduct of economic, commercial, research, investigative or other activities, as well as socio-political, cultural and other events at the border, - added Konstantin Avershin, a member of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Mazhilis.
