Relations between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan characterized by a high level of trust and mutual support

Ashgabat, April 25, 2022 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan Askar Tazhibayev presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

The diplomats discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the political, economic, transport and cultural spheres. The schedule of upcoming events this year in Nur-Sultan and Ashgabat at the highest and high levels was discussed in detail.

The parties noted with satisfaction the traditionally good-neighbourly relations between the two fraternal countries.

“This year we will celebrate the 30 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations that are characterized by a high level of trust and mutual support. Our countries actively cooperate both in bilateral and multilateral formats on topical issues of the international and regional agenda. The effective cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the issues of the Caspian Sea deserves special attention”, - R.Meredov emphasized.

An exchange of views took place on cooperation within the framework of international organizations such as the UN, the CIS, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), as well as the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS).
