The ceremony of awarding Y.Dzhumabayeva with the gold medal of the World Weightlifting Championship took place in Ashgabat

ASHGABAT, March 10, 2021 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerkebulan Sapiyev took part in the ceremony of awarding the gold medal of the 2018 World Weightlifting Championship by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimkuhamedov to Yulduz Dzhumabayeva.

The ceremony took place in the martial arts complex of the Olympic town of Ashgabat.

Earlier, the gold of the 2018 championship in the category up to 45 kilograms was won by the representative of Thailand T.Sukсharoen. However, after identifying violations by the athlete of anti-doping rules, the International Weightlifting Federation (AIF) revised the results of the competition. Thus, the turkmen weightlifter, who took the second place, was declared the winner, gaining 179 kilograms (104 kg and 75 kg) in the combined event.

On behalf of the ITF, G.Berdimuлhamedov presented Y.Dzhumabayeva with a gold medal, as well as a Lexus 570 Sport Plus car on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
