Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan strengthen bilateral cooperation

Nur-Sultan – Ashgabat, February 18, 2021 – Inter-MFA consultations were held by videoconference at the level of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including in trade and economic, transit and transport, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The schedule of upcoming events at the highest and high levels was considered.

An exchange of views took place on interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations. Special attention was paid to the development of dialogue in the format of Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

Following the talks, the parties signed a Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for 2021-2023.
