Amman, December 10, 2024 – In the framework of the Fifth Meeting of the Kazakh-Jordanian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation, a meeting was held between Vice-Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport of Jordan Farys Abu Dayyeh, which was also attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan Talgat Shaldanbay.

During the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the parties discussed cooperation issues and prospects for further development in transport and logistics, international road transportation and civil aviation.

Particular attention was paid to signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Transport of Kazakhstan and Jordan on Mutual recognition of training and certification of seafarers. In addition, they discussed the use of capacities of corridors «North-South» and Trans-Caspian International Transport Route in transportation in the direction of PRC and Asian countries.

In terms of aviation, Talgat Lastaev informed about the current regime's «open sky», which provides for the removal of all restrictions on the number of flights and grants foreign airlines the fifth degree of «freedom of air» on any international routes, inviting Jordanian airlines to carry out regular flights to Kazakhstan.

The collocutors emphasized the significant transit potential of both countries, the qualitative development of which can have a positive effect not only for Kazakhstan and Jordan but also for the whole of Central Asia and the Middle East.

Mazen Abu Deyeh supported the thesis of the need to develop and strengthen transportation and logistics routes connecting our countries and regions, which will undoubtedly contribute to the build-up of both bilateral and regional trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
