Kazakh-Jordanian Trade and Investment Meetings were held

Amman, September 3, 2024 – Embassy of Kazakhstan to Jordan together with JSC «NC «Kazakh Invest» and the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce organized the Kazakhstan-Jordan Round Table. About 100 representatives of government agencies and the private sector of the two countries attended.

Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Khalil Elhaj Tawfiq, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan Talgat Shaldanbay and the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov made welcoming remarks.

In his speech, Ambassador Talgat Shaldanbay said that Kazakhstan continues to increase interaction with key countries in the Middle East, where Jordan plays a valuable role and has significant potential.

The Kazakh diplomat also informed the participants of the event about the main provisions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's State of the Nation Address, «Just Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Social Optimism», dated September 2, 2024. The participants of the Round Table were provided with booklets summarizing the Nation Address.

Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov presented Kazakhstan's trade and investment potential to the participants and noted the further need for the development of bilateral cooperation, inviting Jordanian businesses to implement joint projects in Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce Khalil Tawfiq noted that the organization of the Round Table was held in the framework of joint work with the Embassy to expand economic cooperation and intensify trade and investment exchange between Jordan and Kazakhstan. He reported on the need to develop direct air communication in the absence of direct railroad and sea routes.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Investment of Jordan Zaher Al Qatarneh familiarized with the investment potential of Jordan and called to intensify work on the implementation of joint investment projects.

The Kazakh and Jordanian participants in the Round Table discussed the prospects of intensifying cooperation and implementing specific projects in non-resource sectors of the economy. It was agreed to focus on launching joint projects in agriculture, food industry, transportation, logistics, sustainable energy, IT, light industry, and others.

B2B meetings were held within the framework of the Round Table, during which Kazakh and Jordanian participants discussed in detail the prospects for future cooperation. Jordanian business was represented by such companies as «Hijazi & Gousheh», «Manaseer Group», «Modern Company for Fertilizer Production», «Falcons Soft Company», «Kawar Group», «DADvet», «Sukhtian Group», «Jazeerat Al Yaqut», «Harmony Investment», «Jordan Aviation» and others.

As a result of the Round Table, 9 memorandums of understanding and cooperation were signed between the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce; between Astana Technical University and Al Hussein Technical University; between the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects and Jordan Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF); between «Yurt Tech» LLP and «NAFITH»; between «Quryq Port» LLP and «NAFITH»; between JSC «NC «Kazakh Invest» and «ELAF Investment Group»; between «RWA Service» LLP and «NAFITH»; between JSC «Center for Trade Policy Development «QazTrade» and «Hijazi&Ghoshen – (Al Majd)», as well as in the field of household chemicals and perfumery production between JSC «NC «Kazakh Invest» and «HRAIZ Parfume».
